When selecting a power supply, make sure the voltage matches your requirements. You should also make sure that the output is sufficient for your appliance. For example, a digital camera with a requirement for 1800mA (milli-amps) will not get sufficient power from a power supply rated at 1000mA - instead, look for a unit with greater than or equal capability (a 1200 or 2400mA unit will be suitable).
