Introduction

Camera Performance

Resolution:

The camera has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024 pixels, which is often referred to as HD (High Definition) or 1.3 Megapixel. It is suitable for high quality recognition and identification quality images.

HD Explained

Light Sensitivity:

  • - In good lighting the camera produces good quality colour images.
  • - In poor lighting and complete darkness the camera can see for up to 20 metres using the built in IR LEDs.
  • - Viewing beyond 20 metres in poor lighting is still possible providing the area being watched has a light level above 0.1 lux (using the Dynamic Night View function, without this the lux level is 1.0).
  • Examples of environments that have a light level above 0.1 lux are:
  • o Dawn and Dusk
  • o A Residential Road with Street Lighting
  • o A Bar or Nightclub

True Day/Night:

  • - The camera is fitted with an IR-Cut filter, this ensures:
  • - Rich, vibrant and accurate colour reproduction
  • - High sensitivity and clear images in low light
  • - Perfectly focused images day or night

Lens:

  • - The camera is fitted with a 4.0mm lens. This lens provides a viewing angle of 50_ for good quality detailed images.
  • The camera can be used with C/CS mount lenses and is compatible with Auto Iris lenses

Other Picture Quality Enhancements:

  • - DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) - This feature removes noise from the camera picture, allowing the camera to produce noise free images even in low light.
  • - Dynamic Night View - This feature reduces the shutter speed of the camera so more light enters the camera, allowing it to display bright colour image even in poor lighting conditions.
  • - Brightness, Contrast. Colour and Sharpness control for adjusting the camera image characteristics to obtain the best picture quality
  • - Digital Zoom for seeing extra detail
  • - Vertical Flip and Mirror functions for rotating the image if required
  • - Full Screen function for viewing the image full screen on your monitor

Features

Excellent Network Performance:

  • - The camera uses H264 compression to create efficient video streams that can be accessed over the local network or the internet without requiring large amounts of bandwidth. Resulting in a better picture quality and higher refresh rates than MJPEG and MPEG4 based IP cameras.
  • - A total of 13 Video Streams are available, including 2 Region Of Interest (which allow you to send portions of the whole camera image at a different resolution and speed to the whole image) streams. Allowing the camera to provide the optimum image size and refresh rate for a variety of applications simultaneously.
  • - Video and Audio Multicasting for sending video and audio to a group of destinations simultaneously using the most efficient strategy

PC free operation:

  • - The camera does not need to be connected to a PC to operate, it can connect directly to a wired or wireless network or internet connection.

Remote Viewing & Recording:

  • - When connected to a local network or an internet connection the cameras can be accessed remotely by a:
    • o Windows PC - allowing you to:
    • + View live images
    • + Pan and Tilt the camera
    • + Zoom In to the image (digital)
    • + Configure the camera
    • + Listen to audio
    • + Make recordings
    • + Take snapshots
      o Mac - allowing you to:
    • + View live images
    • + Pan and Tilt the camera
    • + Configure the camera
    • + Listen to audio (using Quicktime)
    • + Take snapshots
      o Mobile Phone (including iPhone, Android, Nokia, Windows Mobile) - allowing you to:
    • + View live images
    • + Listen to Audio (Nokia and Windows Mobile only)

      o 3GPP compatible device - allowing you to:
    • + View live images
    • + Listen to Audio

    Remote (Across the LAN or Internet) Recording:

    Recordings can be made across a LAN or over the Internet (offsite) in the following ways:

    • o When logging in to the camera via a Windows PC
    • o Using a Windows PC running the free Multi Camera Software
    • o Using a Mac running the Mac Multi Camera Software (available to purchase)
    • o Using a compatible NVR
    • o Using a compatible Hybrid DVR
    • o Using the built in FTP function
    • o Using the built in HTTP file transfer function
    • o Using the SAMBA server file transfer function

    Intelligent Motion Detection:

    • - The camera has built in intelligent motion detection, the camera will detect movement from 10 different zones and will allow you to specify the size of object it is looking for (eliminating any chance of false alarms).

    • - When it detects motion the camera can respond in the following ways:
      • o Send an Email Alert with video or snapshots of the image that triggered the motion detection
      • o Sound an Alarm if speakers are connected
      • o Record directly on to a Micro SD Card
      • o Send images via FTP
      • o Send images via HTTP
      • o Send images to a SAMBA server
      • o Trigger the Alarm Output and any equipment connected to it, for example a Siren or Light Switch (additional relays etc... may be required for this function)

      Email Alerts:

      • - The camera features Email Alerts, these are sent to the email address of your choice whenever the camera detects movement, along with a video or snapshot of what triggered the detection.
      • - This is a great function for being alerted of any intruders at your premises whilst you are away.

      Alarm (Voice Alert):

      • - When speakers are connected to the camera the camera will make an Alarm noise through the speakers, to scare of intruders and let passers know that an intrusion is taking place.

      Microphone:

      • - The camera has a built in microphone for recording and monitoring sound from the location being watched.

      2 Way Audio Communication:

      • - When speakers are connected to the camera it is possible to have a 2 way conversation from your Windows PC with someone that is near the camera. This function can be used to verify who people are, to warn of intruders or simply to have a conversation with staff or family.

      Multiple Users:

      • - The camera supports multiple users with different rights, so you can setup Administrators who can change the camera settings and playback recordings and Guests who can view only

      Industrial Grade Access Security:

      • - Password Protection - To access the camera a user name and password is required, this ensures that your camera is secure and can be accessed by authorised users only.
      • - IP Filtering - It is also possible to specify which IP addresses are allowed to access the camera, further increasing the security of the camera.

      Multi Camera Software:

      - If you require permanent recording or want to record and view multiple cameras from a single PC, free Windows Multi Camera Software is provided. This software offers:

      • o Recording and viewing of up to 64 cameras on a single Windows PC
      • o The ability to view and record cameras from the local network from remote sites via the internet
      • o Smart (Object) Searching of recordings
      • - Mac compatible Multi Camera Software is also available for an extra charge.

      Connectivity

      Wired Networks:

      • - The camera supports wired networks

      Power over Ethernet:

      • - The camera is can be connected to Power over Ethernet networks

      DDNS:

      • - The camera supports DDNS for use in environments where a static external IP address is not available.

      Dynamic IP Service (DIPS):

      - A simple plug and play way to access your camera from the internet, simply connect the camera to the internet via a UPnP compatible Router, visit www.xvision.com click on the Dynamic IP Service link and enter your cameras unique ID, you will then be connected to your camera, for extra security you can also setup a user name and password.

      UPNP:

      • - The camera supports UPNP for easy plug & play setup.

      Alarm Input & Output:

      • - The camera has an Alarm Input and an Alarm Output
      • - The Alarm Input can be used to connect an external sensor like a PIR, when this is triggered the camera can:
      • o Send an Email Alert with videos or snapshots of the image that triggered the motion detection
      • o Sound an Alarm if speakers are connected
      • o Record directly on to a Micro SD Card
      • o Send images via FTP
      • o Send images via HTTP
      • o Send images to a SAMBA server
      • o Trigger the Alarm Output and any equipment connected to it, for example a Siren or Light Switch (additional relays etc... may be required for this function)

      Design and Mounting

      • - The camera is traditionally shaped, it is ideal for use in areas where a camera that is a visual deterrent, is required.
      • - The camera is designed for Wall mounting.
      • - The camera is suitable for indoor use only.
